How To Train Like a Runway Model

I found John Benton model fitness on Instagram. When I saw that he trained models I assumed that he lived in Los Angeles but after clicking through his profile I saw that he actually had a studio here in Dallas. I sent him a DM, which is so unlike me but he to my surprise responded right away and invited me to come to the studio to a class. So the next day I was up early heading to uptown Dallas not knowing what to expect. When I got there I walked A beautiful light filled studio with white washed walls. There were some tall model types finishing up their work out. I felt slightly intimidated, but once I started talking to John I realized how down to earth he is. He really made me feel comfortable and kicked my ass with a killer workout!

What sets John aside from most other trainers is that he trains women very differently than the industry trend. He focuses on preparing girls to be professional models and to have the correct waist and hip measurements to fit in with the industry standard. That means no big hips, and no Kim Kardashian Booty. I will say he is definitely legit. His studio was full of girls that looked like they could be professional models. He also told me that he trains pageant contestants like Miss America. If you that model type body that you would see in a Victoria’s Secret runway show or catalog, John may be the perfect trainer for you. He does offer work out plans available on his website. I will link those down below in case you are interested.

This workout is just going to be inspired by some of the moves that I did in my work out at his studio. Most of his classes require minimal weights and equipment. Since he does not train to bulk, there’s really no need for many weights or equipment. We used Ankle weights and a pair of 5 pound dumbbells.. You also need a yoga mat or a thick work out Mat.

John’s sessions are around an hour long. For times sake I am going to do this in 30 minutes. The workout is going to be very similar to a bbg. Well do is a circuit of 4 exercise for seven minutes and then we’re going to take a break do another circuit for seven minutes take a break and repeat the same thing for a total of 4 7 minute circuits or a total of 28 minutes plus however long you take a break in between.
