LANDSCAPING AROUND AN ABOVE GROUND POOL

Image
Hi there!  Today I wanted to share all of the deets on one of my favorite spots to hang out in the urban jungle.  What would a tropical paradise be without a little watering hole anways (that's Texan slang for a place to get wet and cool off when it's hotter than hell)? I knew I had to have a little place to be in the water to actually be able to enjoy being in the garden in the summer.  I toyed around with lots of different shapes and sizes, and even looked into the oh so trendy stock tank pool idea before I eventually settled upon this  Bestway above ground pool .  I purchased the pool and filter off of Amazon.  It is around 160x85 inches and 32 inches deep.  Just big enough for a couple of people to float around in. The pump is an Intex pump.   It is basically where I have wasted the majority of the summer. Although I would love to build an inground pool some day, we had just fixed an expensive plumbing leak under our house (older houses are the best, right?!

FOUR PLANTS THAT WILL TRANSFORM ANY GARDEN INTO A TROPICAL PARADISE

I can’t believe that September is halfway over.  It certainly still feels like summer here in the urban jungle. Although summer is almost over, I wanted to break down my must have plants for creating a tropical feel.  If you live in the Southern Hemisphere, you may be approaching Spring planting season! When I was planting out the Urban Jungle, the number one thing I considered is how I wanted the space to feel. I wanted a space that draws you in with dramatic foliage.  I wanted there to be a sensuality to it.   I grew up with a dad and grandfather who were both a little wacky about their elephant ears,, so naturally I followed in their footsteps.  I planted giant COLOCASIA I put about 30 bulbs that I bought at Home Depot all along the north facing foundation of my house.  It is a location that doesn't get a lot of sun.  Elephant ears need shade.  They also need a ton of water, so take that into consideration if you live in a place that is on the dr

LOCO for WEST PALM BEACH'S COCONUT VILLA

Image
This summer I went on a trip to West Palm Beach and stayed in an Airbnb, aptly named the "Coconut Villa."  It was the perfect little spot to live the plantasy life for a few days.  I spent afternoons hanging out with fronds by the pool. I love seeking out places to stay that have inspiring gardens.  This was a newer house in an older neighborhood with palm tree lined streets, and an easy bike ride to the best Cuban restraunt in town.  The Bougainvillia and foxtail palms were my favorite part of this garden, and will only get better in the years to come! WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE

Finally! Welcome to my PLANTASY WORLD!!  I am so glad you are here and I am excited to use this space as a landing spot to keep you up to date on all of my new exclusive photos, content, art, online yoga classes and videos. But for now I thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane.  Here are some befores, afters, and all along the ways.. If you scrolled all the way down, thanks for reading!  The last image is the very first image I took when I felt inspired to create @plantifulgoddes on Instagram.  It was the first week of April, almost five months ago to the day.  My tropical Garden of Eden has grown, and so has my vision for the space and the Plantiful Goddess lifestyle.   I will still be sharing lots of pics of the jungle on Instagram, this is just the guac where you can find more photos and fun content! Don't forget to subscribe by email!   LOTS of Love and Light to you and your Plants! XOXO! EVE
