THE YOGA JUNGLE

Image
Do you remember last winter when I wrote that post about creating an outdoor yoga space?  Do you?... It was my last post and a whole lot has grown since then.  I couldn't have manifested a more perfect space if I tried! I did get a little lost in the journey though.  I feel like that is the best part of life anyway. I started a new Instagram account @plantifulgoddess to keep track of the garden's progress in my own weird way.  One thing led to another and I kinda forgot all about my intention for the deck in the first place. Alas, it has come full circle though.  I am launching a new studio on the deck, AKA The YOGA JUNGLE on ONLY FANS!!!!! I am going to be posting my yoga classes that I film exclusively on there from here on out, and just like at a regular studio,  you can take any class on my page for one subscription price.  If you are subscribed you also have access to me for any yoga questions, fitness and nutrition guidance, or to book virtual private class

GETTING IN TRIBAL // Tribal Jungle Goddess Costume

Image
Haapppyy October!!!!!  October is my birthday month, and just an all around fun time of year here. It is still hot enough to feel like summer and the plants here in Eden are still growing strong.  But my favorite thing about October is HALLOWEEN!   I have always been in love with coming up with costumes out of whatever I can find lying around.  It is one of my strange talents!  It is acceptable to go just about anywhere in a costume this time of year.  If anyone asks, you are just on your way to a Halloween party.  Oh, at 9:00 am?  It's a brunch! Whether you start planning your costume on November 1 or October 30, you can rock this tribal goddess costume with minimal planning.  You are likely to have some of this stuff on hand, if not you could definitely find it at a thrift store. I used a tribal print scarf that is triangle shaped to tie as a top.  You can certainly make it cover more by tying it under the arms vs. the around the neck.

MINI POND TOUR // MY PLANTS AND FISH PICKS FOR A CONTAINER WATER GARDEN

Image
I have always loved Goldfish.  I remember going to my doctor's office as a little girl, sitting in front of the fish tank, mesmerized by their whispy tails. Despite having never been to Asia, I would say my garden has a heavy influence of Bali and a dash of Japanese zen.  Whenever I picture exotic gardens, fish ponds are one of the first things that comes to mind.  Not everyone has room or the desire to have an extensive pond system running through the backyard though.  I certainly don't want to deal with the maintenence #lazylibra. I must have watched 10 Youtube tutorials and even checked out a book from my local library on pond building before deciding that I didn't want to do ANY of that.  I just wanted a little water garden where I could have a couple of Goldfish! Finally I found the perfect solution on Pinterest.  It is called an Aquascape Patio Pond.  I bought it on Amazon and you can find them in a variety of shapes and sizes.  This one is  a 32 inch
